Jan Hirth's niece Emily asked her to make a quilt for Cassidy, who is due in August. She wanted a butterfly themed quilt, as this is her symbol for her Mother, who died of breast cancer when Emily was 9 years old. She requested purple, as this was her favorite color. The quilt is primarily fused and machine quilted. The dog and the cat are the family pets.

Cathy Pilliod pieced the quilt, and Diana O'Connor quilted it. It is from Laura Nowres workshop.
Carol Silver made this quilt. The request was for an asymmetrical design, in navy and white, with splashes of vibrant colors. Her daughter got engaged standing in front of a painting of a gumball machine at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. The bright colors represent the gumballs.
